Problems making friends, succeeding in school and participating in extra- curricular activities may pose serious obstacles for many children. Sadness and withdrawal may further complicate their lives. The most effective way to help a child is to seek appropriate professional care. Inpatient Services The purpose of the children's Inpatient program is to evaluate, stabilize and treat children who are experiencing a crisis situation and need immediate intervention. The program focuses on intensive evaluation, treatment, and aftercare planning using a professional, multidisciplinary team treatment approach.
Family Involvement At UBH, we recognize that family involvement is essential to the treatment process. Through the use of individual family sessions and involvement in groups, the family is educated on mental health issues, conflict resolution, effective communications and parenting skills.
Discharge Planning Discharge Planning is initiated upon admission and is in place at discharge. Through ongoing communication with the referring professional, the patient and family experiences a smooth transition to community-based services or residential programs.
Call the UBH Care Center
The UBH Care Center accepts referrals, inquiries, and information calls 24 hours seven days per week. Qualified Mental Health Professionals answer the Care Center Line and will provide free initial assessments to determine the most appropriate level of care that may help individuals with mental health and/ or chemical dependency problems. When indicated, licensed psychiatrists will determine when hospitalization is required. |
