Although trauma itself is not a disorder, it's often at the root of many problems people bring to treatment. Therefore it makes good sense to pay attention to trauma when treating people with trauma related problems. The relationship between trauma and Post Traumatic stress disorder, and dissociative disorders is well established in the trauma literature, there is growing correlation however between trauma and other conditions generally not considered trauma related.
